BASIC RIGGING
The scope of works a licensed Basic Rigger can perform:
- Movement of plant and equipment
- Steel erection
- Erection of material hoists
- Installation of static lines and safety nets
- Erection of mast climbing personnel platforms
- Installation and maintaining of perimeter safety screens and shutters
- Installation and maintaining of crane loading bay platforms

Course Prerequisites:
Attendees must hold a 'Licence to Perform High Risk Works' for Dogging or equivalent.
Course Outline:
This is a two day course, including theory and practicle training.
Learning outcomes include:
- Mechanical advantage achieved by using reeving systems and calculations for the friction loading in the systems
- Tying a variety of knots and hitches (refer to assessment instrument)
- Installation of a static line
- Installation of material hoists
- Bolt tensioning
- Structural steel erection

The assessment involves three parts:
- General knowledge questions
- A written assignment
